Nose Thread Lift (Pcl Nose Threads, Hiko)

A HIKO nose thread lift uses fine, absorbable PCL threads to lift and define the nose without surgery or implants. Doctor-placed at One Nadela Medical.

If you want a sharper nose but are not ready for surgery, a HIKO nose thread lift is the middle option most patients are weighing. Here is what it costs, what it does, and who it genuinely suits.

What is a HIKO nose thread lift?

The doctor places fine, absorbable PCL threads under the skin of the nose. The threads support the bridge and tip, giving height and definition immediately. As they dissolve, they stimulate collagen production in the treated area.

There is no implant and no incision. The procedure itself takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Numbing is applied first, so expect to be at the clinic for roughly 45 minutes to an hour in total.

    What threads can address:

    • A low or flat bridge
    • A tip that lacks definition
    • A straighter, more defined profile line
    • A subtle change, with the amount of lift agreed with the doctor beforehand

How much is a HIKO nose lift in the Philippines?

Typical range across the Philippines: around ₱15,000 to ₱35,000, depending on the thread material used, how many threads are placed, and the clinic. Heavily discounted offers exist and usually reflect a different thread material.

At One Nadela: HIKO nose thread lift starts at ₱35,000.

The number of threads drives the price, and that is decided by your nose and the lift you are after. You will have the full cost confirmed before anything begins.

Is a HIKO nose lift worth it?

It depends on what you want, so here is the honest split.

It suits you if you want a visible but natural lift, minimal downtime, and you are comfortable with a result that lasts a period of time instead of indefinitely.

It is probably not the one if you want a structural change or a dramatic difference. That is what surgical rhinoplasty does, and we will point you there if that is what your goal actually requires.

Threads sit between fillers and surgery. At your consultation the doctor will tell you plainly whether HIKO reaches the result you are picturing, or whether fillers or surgery would serve you better.

HIKO, fillers, or surgery: which one?

    HIKO threads

    • Lifts and defines, especially the tip
    • Minimal downtime
    • Visible result usually holds 12 to 24 months
    • Best for a natural lift and a more defined tip

    Fillers (liquid rhinoplasty)

    • Adds volume, mainly to the bridge
    • Minimal downtime
    • Lasts 6 to 12 months with hyaluronic acid, 18 to 24 months with calcium hydroxylapatite
    • Best for bridge height and volume

    Surgery

    • Reshapes the underlying bone and cartilage
    • Splint for 1 to 2 weeks, desk work at around 10 to 14 days
    • Structural, and does not reverse
    • Best for a full reshape

Not sure which? Book a consult and the doctor will match the treatment to your goal.

How long do HIKO results last?

Two different things are dissolving here, and it helps to keep them apart.

The PCL material is absorbed over roughly 18 to 24 months. Depending on the brand and formulation of the thread, some products persist closer to two or three years.

The visible result runs on its own timeline. It declines gradually as the threads absorb and the collagen remodels. Most patients notice a meaningful result for 12 to 24 months, and some hold an improvement for longer. How long yours lasts depends on your anatomy, skin quality, movement, healing, and lifestyle.

    What HIKO threads cannot do

Threads sit between fillers and surgery, and it is worth being straight about the limits before you book.

    • The result is temporary by design. The threads absorb. Without a top-up, the nose returns to where it started.
    • Placement decides the outcome. HIKO is highly technique-dependent. Assessment and precise placement are what produce a balanced result rather than an obviously lifted one.
    • It does not change bone or cartilage. If your goal needs a structural change, surgery is the honest answer and we will tell you so.
    • It makes a future rhinoplasty more complex. Threads can cause scar (fibrotic) tissue to form inside the nose, which alters the normal tissue planes. Surgery afterwards is still possible, but it may need more meticulous dissection and more operating time, and it is treated as a revision case. Revision rhinoplasty typically costs more than a primary one.

    What does recovery look like?

Day of. Most patients return to normal activities the same day. Some tightness or pressure across the nose is usual as the threads settle.

Days 1 to 3. Mild swelling, tenderness, or slight bruising at the entry points is common and settles on its own.

Weeks 1 to 2. Simple aftercare: avoid pressing or massaging the nose, avoid sleeping face-down, and skip facials or anything that puts pressure on the area for about 2 weeks.

After that. The result softens slightly from the immediate post-procedure look as swelling resolves, settling into its natural final shape.

Your doctor gives you the full aftercare list, and we check in during healing.

Why patients choose One Nadela for HIKO

    • Placed by a doctor, not a technician. HIKO is highly technique-dependent. With proper assessment and precise placement the aim is a natural, balanced result that suits your face, rather than simply a higher nose.
    • A hybrid approach where it suits you. The doctor often combines threads with filler. That combination is more structurally stable and tends to look more natural than threads on their own.
    • Available at all three clinics: Cebu, BGC/Taguig, and Makati, with doctors on duty who can perform it the same day.
    • 515+ patient reviews at 4.9★ across our Google profiles.
    • Straight answers: if threads will not get you where you want to go, we say so.

    Surgical Rhinoplasty

A common and popular surgical procedure, a rhinoplasty or nose job is done to reshape or resize the nose, whether for cosmetic or reconstructive purposes; building a sharper, pointier nose tip.

Medically reviewed by Dr. Jule Yasser Kong, MD, PPAI, KCCS, PASCAL, IFAAS · PRC Licence No. 0133571 — 7 August 2026

Most people arrive here with two questions: how much does it cost, and will it still look like me.

    What is surgical rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty (a "nose job") is surgery that changes the shape, size, or proportion of the nose. The surgeon reshapes the bone and cartilage underneath, which is why the change is structural.

Patients come to One Nadela for a higher bridge, a more defined tip, a straighter line after an injury, or to breathe more easily where the internal structure is the problem. It is performed by a licensed surgeon in an accredited facility.

    What surgery can address:

    • A flat or low bridge
    • A rounded or bulbous tip
    • Wide nostrils (alarplasty)
    • A crooked nose or a dorsal hump
    • Breathing problems caused by structure. One Nadela handles functional and septal cases.

How much does rhinoplasty cost in the Philippines?

Prices vary by technique, materials, and how much work the nose actually needs. A tip refinement is not the same operation as an open rhinoplasty with grafting.

Typical range across the Philippines: around ₱40,000 to ₱300,000, depending on the case.

At One Nadela: surgical rhinoplasty starts at ₱150,000.

You get an exact figure at your consultation, before anything is scheduled. We assess your nose first and then quote it. A number published on a page might not apply to your case at all.

    Do you actually need surgery?

Not everyone does. We would sooner say so at the consultation than after.

If you want a subtle lift with little downtime, a HIKO nose thread lift or liquid rhinoplasty using fillers may get you close to the result you have in mind. Those options are not structural, and they do not last indefinitely. For many patients that trade is worth it.

Surgery is the right route when you want a structural change that stays. At your consultation the doctor will tell you honestly which one fits your goal. Sometimes the answer is the non-surgical option. Sometimes it is to wait.

    What happens during the procedure?

At One Nadela, rhinoplasty is performed under IV sedation and takes roughly 2 to 4 hours, depending on the case.

The surgeon reshapes the underlying bone and cartilage. Where added height is the goal, that is achieved one of two ways:

    • An implant (silicone or Gore-Tex): used at One Nadela, and a common, predictable way to raise the bridge.
    • A cartilage graft using your own tissue: also used at One Nadela. It carries a lower risk of rejection and is often preferred for the tip.

Which technique suits you depends on your anatomy and the result you want. The doctor walks you through the plan before anything is decided.

What does recovery actually look like?

Healing is gradual, and the final shape takes longer to settle than most people expect. A realistic timeline:

First 48 to 72 hours. Swelling and bruising around the eyes peak. Expect congestion and some discomfort, managed with the medication your doctor prescribes.

Week 1. A splint protects the nose for 1 to 2 weeks. Rest, and keep your head elevated when sleeping.

Week 2. The splint comes off and most of the visible bruising has faded. Most patients return to desk work at around 10 to 14 days, though the nose still looks swollen.

Weeks 3 to 6. Swelling continues to settle. Strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, and contact sport stay off the list until your doctor clears you. The nasal bones need roughly six weeks to knit.

Months 3 to 6. The shape becomes recognisably your result. Subtle swelling often remains at the tip.

Months 6 to 12. The last of the swelling resolves and the final contour settles, which can take up to about a year.

Individual healing varies. You get written aftercare and follow-up checks through the whole process.
