Most people reading about chin liposuction want to know three things: what it costs, whether it can fix their double chin, and how long the swelling lasts. This page answers all three, including when liposuction is not the right treatment.
At One Nadela, chin liposuction starts at ₱65,000, and it is performed at our Cebu and Makati clinics.
When you compare quotes between clinics, ask what the number includes: the anaesthesia, the equipment used, and the follow-up visits after surgery. Two prices can describe very different operations, so the useful question is what happens on the day and who performs it.
A licensed doctor performs this procedure.
Yes. Chin liposuction, also called submental liposuction, is a minimally invasive surgery. It reduces the volume under the chin by suctioning out fat through small incisions, and the techniques we use also help tighten the skin over the area.
It is sometimes confused with fat-dissolving injections such as Lipocontour or Mesolipo. Those are injection treatments. Chin liposuction is a surgical procedure with a recovery period, and it is planned that way from the first consultation.
This is the question that decides whether liposuction is worth doing at all. A double chin does not always come from fat. It usually comes from one or more of these:
Your doctor determines the cause during your consultation, because each one needs a different treatment:
If the wrong cause is treated, the result is disappointing. That is why we do not recommend a treatment until we have assessed you.
Many patients have more than one cause, for example a recessed chin together with some fat under the chin. In these cases liposuction can be combined with other treatments. They usually work together, each addressing a different part of the problem, so the final result is typically better than either treatment alone. If liposuction alone is not going to do the job for you, we tell you honestly.
Patients often ask about these three together, because all of them change the shape of the lower face. They work on different things:
A face that looks full can have more than one of these going on, and the consultation is where the doctor sorts out which one is actually responsible.
We use 2 to 3 machines during surgery, depending on your needs. Each one does a different job:
Using them together lets us remove fat evenly while also addressing skin tightness, rather than only taking the fat out.
Chin liposuction is performed under IV sedation, so you are deeply relaxed while the doctor works. Your doctor explains the plan for your procedure, including where the small incisions go, during your consultation.
Most patients find recovery manageable. Here is what to expect, in order.
You may also feel tightness, numbness, or small firm areas under the skin. These soften over time.
The fat cells removed during liposuction do not come back.
Liposuction cannot remove every fat cell in an area, though, and some are left behind. If you gain weight after surgery, the remaining fat cells can get bigger. So the area can get fuller again with weight gain, but it does not look the same as before your surgery, because there are fewer fat cells there to grow.
Keeping your weight stable helps you maintain your results.
Like any surgery, chin liposuction has potential risks. Most are minor and temporary, but it is important to understand them before you decide.
Common and usually temporary
These usually settle over the following weeks.

Book a consultation at Cebu or Makati. The doctor examines your chin and neck and tells you whether the fullness is fat, a recessed chin, loose skin, or a mix, and what would actually help, before anything is decided.
