If you change shirts twice a day, plan outfits around sweat marks, or avoid raising your arms in photos, you are probably looking for something stronger than antiperspirant. Here is what sweatox does, what it costs, and how long it holds.

What is sweatox?

Sweatox is Botox for excessive sweating. A doctor injects small amounts of botulinum toxin just under the skin across the treatment area, most commonly the underarms. The toxin blocks the nerve signals that tell your sweat glands to switch on, so the glands in that area stop producing sweat.

The glands themselves are not removed or damaged. They simply stop receiving the signal, and they start receiving it again as the effect wears off. Nothing is cut, and there are no incisions.

The medical name for the condition is hyperhidrosis, which means sweating beyond what the body needs to cool itself. It is common, it is not caused by poor hygiene, and it is treatable.

How much is sweatox in the Philippines?

Typical range across the Philippines: around ₱15,000 to ₱25,000 for underarm treatment. What moves the price:

  • The size of the area treated. A larger area needs more toxin to cover it.
  • How many units you need. A larger sweat area needs more units to cover it.
  • The brand of toxin. Korean brands generally cost less per unit than United States brands. Both are legitimate in the hands of a licensed doctor.

At One Nadela: sweatox starts at ₱25,000, and your exact figure is confirmed at consultation once the doctor has mapped the area being treated.

We sit at the upper end of that range and we would rather say why than leave you guessing: this is a doctor-administered treatment, priced as one.

Who does sweatox suit, and who does it not?

It suits you if antiperspirants, including the clinical-strength ones, have not been enough; if sweating affects what you wear, what you do, or how you feel at work; or if you want relief that lasts months at a time rather than being reapplied daily.

It is not for you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Sweatox is generally contraindicated in both, so tell the doctor at your consultation.

Beyond that, the consultation is where the doctor checks that treating the sweating is the right answer for you before anything is agreed.

When does sweatox start working, and how long does it last?

The sweating starts to decrease as early as one week, and the full effect is usually appreciated at two to three weeks.

The effect then typically lasts around four to six months, after which the treatment is repeated. How long it holds varies from person to person, with your metabolism and with how physically active you are.

Sweatox is not permanent by design. When the effect fades, the nerve signals return and so does the sweating, at the level it was before. The treatment is repeated to maintain the result.

What does a sweatox session involve?

It is an in-clinic appointment with no incisions and no general anaesthetic. The treatment area is carefully mapped and marked first, so the injection points are evenly distributed and correctly spaced. That mapping is what lets the toxin cover the whole sweating area rather than leaving patches behind, and it is why there are more injection points than most people expect.

Numbing cream is applied first and left on for 30 minutes to an hour, so expect the whole appointment to take about an hour and a half.

Downtime is minimal. You may have slight redness or a pinpoint of bleeding at the injection sites, and occasionally light bruising, which settles on its own. Most patients return to their day straight afterwards.

Is sweatox safe, and what are the side effects?

Botulinum toxin has a long track record for excessive sweating when it is given by a trained medical injector.

Common side effects are temporary: redness, localised swelling or small raised bumps at the injection sites, and bruising. These resolve over time.

Sweatox is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. At your consultation the doctor goes through the risks with you before anything is decided.

What about antiperspirants and the other options?

  • Clinical-strength antiperspirants are the sensible first step, they cost very little, and for some people they are enough. If they have not worked for you, that is useful information for the doctor.
  • Sweatox switches off the signal to the glands for a number of months at a time, then is repeated.
  • Surgery is a permanent option and a much bigger decision, with its own risks. It is not something to reach for before the simpler options have been tried, and it is not a treatment we perform here.

Most patients arrive having already tried antiperspirants. The consultation is where the doctor works out whether sweatox is the right next step for you.

Why patients choose One Nadela for sweatox

  • Injected by a doctor, not a technician. Even coverage across the area is what decides whether the result is complete or patchy.
  • Clinics in Cebu, BGC/Taguig and Makati.
  • A straight answer. If your sweating needs looking into rather than treating, we tell you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to what patients ask most before they book.

How much is sweatox in the Philippines?

Typically around ₱15,000 to ₱25,000 for underarm treatment, depending on the size of the area, the number of units and the brand of toxin. At One Nadela sweatox starts at ₱25,000, confirmed exactly at your consultation.

How long does sweatox last?

The sweating starts to decrease at about one week, the full effect is seen at two to three weeks, and it typically lasts around four to six months. It varies with your metabolism and how physically active you are.

Does sweatox hurt?

Numbing cream is applied first and left on for 30 minutes to an hour, so most patients describe pressure rather than pain. The injections themselves are shallow and quick.

Is sweatox permanent?

No. The nerve signals return as the effect wears off, and the sweating comes back at the level it was before. The treatment is repeated to maintain the result.

What is hyperhidrosis?

It is the medical term for sweating more than the body needs to regulate its temperature. It is common, it is not a hygiene problem, and it is treatable.
